Generator Repair
Dwight and Meg repairing a Generator
- Side commodity: Repair Fourth dimension Calculation
- A Generator requires fourscore charges to be completed, with the standard Repair speed prepare at 1 c/s :
Every bit the Generators accept four sides, information technology is possible for upward to four Survivors to repair it simultaneously - assuming that there are no other Props blocking any of the sides. The more than Survivors work on the same Generator at the same time, the faster information technology volition exist repaired.
If a Survivor stops repairing a Generator, its current progression will be saved. Fully repairing a Generator without the help of a Toolbox, Perks and other Survivors takes eighty seconds , assuming that no Great Skill Checks are succeeded and no Skill Checks are failed.
The Generator Repair time can be reduced by using sure Perks
or repairing with a Toolbox
. Once fully repaired, the lights fastened to the Generator volition activate and illuminate the immediate area around the Generator, this will also warning the Killer
, who receives an auditory and visual cue of the completed Generator's location.
Killers tin can grab a Survivor off of a Generator mid-repair (also known as interrupting) and hoist them directly onto their shoulder.
Finding Generators
Generators are part of the Killer's default Aura-reading abilities, meaning that Killer's will see the Aura
of any unrepaired Generator present on the Trial Footing.
Survivors do not possess this power (with the exception of within a limited altitude when using the Perk Visionary
) and must observe unrepaired Generators using other means.
Generators with red accent colours are easily located by watching out for their blinking and flickering floodlights which tower above the surrounding terrain and props.
If those lights are constantly illuminated, it indicates that the Generator is completed and tin no longer be interacted with.
Generators with yellowish accent colours are more difficult to locate as their location's express ceiling height do not let for attached alpine floodlights. Instead, these Generators are linked to nearby light fixtures (i.e. the lamps in Lampkin Lane houses) or signages (i.e. way-indicate signs in Treatment Theatre) with the same behaviour as the floodlights.
Efficiency Penalty
When 2 or more Survivors repair the same Generator, the Game incurs a stack-able -15 % Efficiency punishment per repairing Survivor to their individual Repair speed.
This Efficiency penalty can be mitigated by using Evidence Thyself
.
| Repairing Survivors | Efficiency Penalty | Private Repair Speed efficiency | Combined Repair Speed efficiency | Fourth dimension to complete a Generator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Survivor | 0 % | 100 % = 1 c/s | 1 c/s (1 x one c/due south) | 80 seconds |
| two Survivors | -xv % | 85 % = 0.85 c/s | i.vii c/s (two ten 0.85 c/s) | ~47.06 seconds |
| three Survivors | -30 % | 70 % = 0.vii c/s | ii.1 c/s (three x 0.vii c/s) | ~38.1 seconds |
| four Survivors | -45 % | 55 % = 0.55 c/south | two.2 c/southward (4 x 0.55 c/southward) | ~36.36 seconds |
Skill Checks
- Main Article: Skill Checks
Like all skilful interactions, Generator Repair may trigger a Skill Check
at any given moment. If a Survivor succeeds a Neat Skill Check, the repair progress volition receive a 1 % bonus. If they fail a Skill Bank check, the Generator volition explode and lose 10 % of the maximum Repair progress. In addition, during iii seconds , no farther progression will register. The failing Survivor will shy away from the exploding Generator and shield their face. A failed Skill Bank check will also give the Killer a Loud Noise notification, showing them the Generator'southward location. Stopping the Repair action at any moment during a Skill Check, volition automatically fail it.
Damaging Generators
The Killer has the ability to straight interact with a Generator by walking up to whatsoever Generator with some progression, that is non yet fully repaired, and dissentious it, causing it to slowly lose progression.
The activeness is performed akin to breaking a Pallet and takes ii seconds .
A damaged Generator will start to slowly backslide until either a Survivor resumes repairing it or it regresses all the way.
Generators regress at a default rate of 0.25 c/s , taking a maximum of ~320 seconds to regress from 99.9... to 0 %.
A damaged Generator volition also continuously emit reddish-white sparks.
Generator Terminology
With Patch 4.3.0, the Developers standardised the terminology used in regards to the various states a Generator may find itself in:
- A Generator losing progression over time is referred to equally "regressing".
- The activeness of putting a Generator into the Regressing Land is referred to as "dissentious the Generator".
- The action of a Generator losing some progression immediately is referred to as "losing progress".
- The action of preventing any interaction with the Generator past the Killer or the Survivor is referred to as "blocking the Generator".
- A blocked Generator cannot change its progress.
- A regressing Generator that becomes blocked will remain in the Regressing State, simply not lose any progress until it becomes unblocked.
- A regressing Generator can lose progress from other Unlockables.
